UCalc FMP January 2005 beta

An important new feature, ucDefineSyntax, was added to this beta. With this, the UCalc FMP beta is no longer merely an expression parser, but now it is also a full-fledged language-building tool. The Syntax feature (in combination with other features) has two main goals: 1) To greatly simplify the process of designing a scripting language, and 2) to let you implement syntaxes that work exactly the way you'd like them to.

There is more work to do before it can more fully achieve these goals. However, the current beta will already give you a very good feel for it.

Release date estimate
In the previous beta announcement I suggested that the next beta might be the final one. Unfortunately, today's beta does not appear to be the final one. It was necessary to undo certain dead-end implementations and replace them with something better. It will take additional time to stabilize these changes.
