Here is what’s happening:

  1. A 16-bit version of the UCalc Fast Math Parser DLL is now available.
  2. The next version of UCalc Fast Math Parser is under construction.
  3. Tip of the Week has changed to Tip of the Month for now.

A. A 16-bit version of the UCalc Fast Math Parser DLL is available on request.
Apparently Windows 3.1 is still alive and kicking, and people are still developing for this platform, and want a UCalc DLL for it. So a 16-bit version of the DLL was compiled. In order to receive a copy, please send e-mail to support@ucalc.com and request the file attachment. The 16-bit DLL might eventually be posted online for anyone to download.

Please note that the 32-bit code was modified and recompiled as a 16-bit DLL, however, no further effort was made to optimize it for the 16-bit platform. You may encounter undocumented limitations, and you may have to make do with those limitations. Please keep in mind that there is no guaranty of continued support for the 16-bit version.

B. The next version of UCalc Fast Math Parser is currently under construction.
There is some slow but sure progress. No official release date has been set, and any estimated release date you may receive via e-mail can only be a wild guess. There is no guaranty as to the features that will be implemented in the next version. However, things such as support for multi-threading, and support for allowing overloading of certain operators such as AND for use with strings, are a top priority; so are fixes to problems such as the one that requires _fpreset on some systems, etc… Now is an excellent time to submit suggestions. Check back later for the upcoming beta releases.

C. Tip of the Week has changed to Tip of the Month for now, as work is being done on the next version of the math parser. This month’s tip is about how to define arrays with UCalc Fast Math Parser. If you have a tip that you would like to suggest, please send e-mail to tips@ucalc.com (or feel free to post your tips in one of the message forums).
